New Rules for In2Hockey
1. BREAKING AT A PENALTY CORNER
The new Rule means that defending players breaking early at a Penalty Corner can be sent to join their team mates in the circle at the end of the pitch, rather than a penalty shot being awarded if defenders repeatedly break early. New Rule 15.g has been added to the 6-a-side Rules and Rules 16.g and 16.h to the 7-a-side Rules.
2. THE ‘CORNER’
The new Rule means that, if the ball is unintentionally played over the back-line by a defender, and no goal is scored, the game is re-started with a hit to the attacking team, on the half-way line and in line with where it crossed the back-line. New Rules 12.d and 12.e have been added to the 6-a-side Rules and 13.d & 13.e to the 7-a-side Rules.
3. FREE HITS AWARDED WITHIN 5M OF THE EDGE OF THE CIRCLE
The new Rule means that free hits awarded within 5m of the edge of the circle must now be taken from the place of the infringement. All players, except the taker, must be a minimum of 5m from the ball.
The ball must move a minimum of 5m in any direction, or be touched by a player of either team, before it can be played into the circle.
Please note: players cannot now hit the ball directly into the circle from hits in any part of the attacking half of the pitch.
These changes are reflected in 14.e of the 6-a-side Rules and 15.e of the 7-a-side Rules
